Every event below comes from the group that runs it: the Downtown Development Authority, the Blairsville-Union County Chamber, the Union County Historical Society, the county, or the festival’s own organizers. Each card shows its source and the day we checked it. Where an organizer has not published a time or a date yet, we say so instead of guessing, and a date only gets an add-to-calendar button once its organizer has published it.

Moved, or not in Blairsville

  • Scottish Festival & Highland Games: The Blairsville Scottish Festival & Highland Games moved to Hiawassee, GA in 2025 and is now the Georgia Mountain Scottish Festival & Highland Games. (the festival)
  • A Christmas tree lighting on the square: we found none announced for 2026 by the city, the DDA, the chamber or the Historical Society, so we don’t list one.
  • The Georgia Mountain Fair is in Hiawassee, in Towns County, not in Blairsville.

Who publishes Blairsville’s calendar

Four groups run most events. The Downtown Development Authority runs the square festivals and the December evenings; the Chamber runs the Fourth of July, the Boo Bash and the Tour of Trees; the Historical Society runs the courthouse concerts, the Heritage Festival and the Christmas parade; and Sorghum in the Mountains, Inc. runs the sorghum festival. One caution: The Chamber’s Fairs & Festivals page mixes years. It lists ‘Sorghum Festival October 11-12, 18-19’ (2025 dates), links nottelymarinainc.com/2024-schedule for July 4, and lists a ‘Chocolate Walk – February 8’ while the DDA has the 2026 Chocolate Walk on Feb 7.
