Georgia's second-oldest state park

Vogel State Park, Blairsville: What’s Open This Fall

The short answer

Vogel State Park is about 11 miles south of Blairsville at the foot of Blood Mountain. It opened in 1931 and is Georgia's second-oldest state park. As of October 2026, Lake Trahlyta is drained for dam repairs, so the lake loop and Trahlyta Falls are closed; Bear Hair Gap (4.1 miles) and the shorter trails are open. Parking needs a $10 ParkPass.
